Ang Lee's ''Brokeback Mountain'' won 3 awards: Best Film, Actor (Heath Ledger) and Director. ''A History of Violence'', starring Viggo Mortensen, won 2 awards, both for Supporting Performances by William Hurt and Maria Bello. Reese Witherspoon was voted Best Actress for her role in ''Walk the Line'' (she would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Actress).
